I love arrowroot chips or ngaku chips. It is a once a year thingy that arrowroot chips is a must for me for every Chinese New Year. I just love to eat this chips. Not only me but my kids and Dearie Suki love it too. Anything that is fried and crispy, they just loved it. But after eating must drink a lot of water oh!
I used to buy the arrowroot chips from one of my supplier and it is really crazy to get that small container of chips at RM18.00 and within 1 hours I alone can finish it while watching TV. Ended up every year I will buy about 2 kg at only RM2.88 per kg and fried it by myself. With 2 kg of arrowroot I can get 4 containers of fried arrowroot chips. But the frying part is quite tedious and hot off course.

I am surprised when I MSNed with Constance, Ellena and Sally, three of them don’t know what is thing all about. Well this chips must be something you can only find in Malaysia. The above is how the arrowroot looks like. To make the chips is pretty simple. Just peel off the skin, wash, clean and drain it.
Heat oil in a big wok and slice the arrowroot down into the oil with a slicer and deep fried it under small fire till it turned golden brown. Once it is cooled down, sprinkle with some salt. Keep in an airtight container. Do give it a try if you can find arrowroot in your country. Constance had tried that and she loved it. Hahaha..
